Without a doubt, Ne-Yo is the epitome of superstar! His hard work is unparalleled, and he has built a strong history. After trying his hand, and vocals, out in the R&B group Envy, who had the opportunity of performing not only on Showtime at the Apollo but Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes on MTV's The Cut, he leaned more to songwriting after the group disbanded. This would lead to a navy of opportunities in that arena.

Ne-Yo spent the early part of the 2000's writing for the who's who of entertainment, contributing songs to Christina Milian, Teedra Moses, Mary J. Blige, Faith Evans, B2K, and of course, Beyonce. It wasn't until 2006 that he released his debut album, In My Own Words, for Def Jam. The album sold more than 300,000 copies in it's first week of release, and went on to sale more than a million copies.

His second album, "Because of You", came just a year later in 2007. "Year of the Gentleman" hit stores in 2008, and "Libra Scale" dropped in 2010. Since then, he released "R.E.D." in 2012, and "Non-Fiction" came at the top of 2015.

Ne-Yo has also built a solid career in the acting world, playing roles in movies like Save the Last Dance and Stomp the Yard, and also taking part in a variety of television projects.

Look for Ne-Yo to take the stage at this year's BET Experience.
